Biomass Supplier List (BSL) Biomass Fuel Sustainability Required from 5th October 2015

From 5th October 2015, all biomass boiler installations up to 999 kW output, must meet the new Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) fuel sustainability requirements.

Failure to meet the new BSL regulations will result in RHI payments being suspended or withdrawn completely.

The BSL require all qualifying biomass sites to obtain BSL approval to continue to earn RHI payments. Those RHI biomass boiler installation sites that produce their own wood chip and log fuel from their own estate woodland, and those RHI biomass boiler installation sites that purchase virgin roundwood, or use timber offcuts from processing and purchased waste wood, and those who purchase wood pellet, wood chip and logs must all comply with these new regulations from 5th October 2015.

Clean Energy Consultancy Ltd are able to provide advice and help with Biomass Suppliers List applications. For further advice contact Andrew Robertson at Clean Energy Consultancy Ltd.
