Clean Consultancy Energy Ltd recently conducted a renewable energy feasibility for a biomass micro combined heat and power that generates 100 kWth (heat) and 50 kWe (electricity) to supplement the existing two 199 kW biomass boilers.
The existing biomass boilers only operate for 3 months at which point they have used their tier 1 RHI tariff and are switched off and LPG is used for the rest of the year. The micro biomass CHP will operate all year earning over £50,000 RHI income and £26,000 ROC income and will provide all the farms base heat and all the annual electricity demand. The LPG will only be a reserve system to be used during maintenance periods and the existing biomass boilers will provide additional heat during peak heating periods.
