Poultry sector still strong for biomass

Whilst the sub 200kW category for biomass has decreased significantly, demand for biomass boilers has strengthened

Whilst the sub 200kW category for biomass has decreased significantly, demand for biomass boilers in the 200 – 999kW which attract the medium tier for RHI payments has strengthened as the poultry industry move into this area.

Growers are typically installing a 995kW biomass boiler and providing heat to multiple poultry houses rather than a single boiler per house. The financial gain for the farm by switching to biomass from the fossil fuel alternatives means farmers can further invest into their business and increase profits.
